Review on White Amazon Basics Non-Stick Bread Making Machine - 2 Pound Capacity by Raymundo Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well but noisy

I have had a bread maker for years and have baked hundreds of loaves with it. It still works well, but a while ago it detached itself from the counter during the kneading phase, causing dents in the machine and floor. Miraculously, the machine still works perfectly, but I worry that its long life is coming to an end. I don't want to miss out on convenient fresh bread, so I decided to try these Revain basics. I've only used it a couple of times so far, but I have some early observations. including a cheap plastic measuring cup/spoon that probably won't last long. But it's normal. Although the machine has the same capacity as my old one - 2 pounds - it's lighter and takes up less counter space. It has more than enough settings to keep me satisfied; I never used more than a few on my old machine. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The display is also easy to read. Unlike my old machine, this one has a detachable paddle that tends to get stuck in baked bread. The machine comes with a small extraction tool, which is fine, but I'm afraid of losing the tool. And pulling out the paddle is an extra step. I think it makes it easier to clean up, but I'm not a big fan. The instructions were clear and several basic recipes were included. I've tried a few; they turned out good. I used bread flour (recipes just say "flour"). The machine has rubber feet. I hope that keeps him from cliff jumping like my old man. It also has a longer cord, which is nice. Two downsides. First, the motor is very noisy when kneading. Much louder than my old car. And second, the machine seems to heat up a bit unevenly, causing some spots of the crust to brown more than others. Let's see if this machine will be as robust as my beloved Bradman. For now, however, it looks like a good option for easy homemade bread making.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Waiting time too long
