Get it from someone with a PhD in Electrical Engineering who is also a radio amateur. This is nothing more than a placebo antenna. You have the same reception with or without this antenna. The problem is that it's made up of multiple bits screwed together and pressed against each other and won't complete the circuit. In fact, some parts are painted and actually separate the antenna. I was able to "fix" it by sanding off the paint and using conductive paste on all the connections to bond them together. Reception is slightly better, but signals aren't strong enough for the finder to stop on channels. Because even if you're lucky and it works as intended, it's still nothing more than pieces of metal glued together. Just use a wire! No antenna tuning or technical design is required.
