I really don't know what all the consumers who gave this pipe bad reviews were expecting, but clearly they weren't expecting anything realistic. This Acme Whistle #535 is a premium training tool most commonly used on dogs, but it is also the same bridge whistle used to train many marine mammals (like dolphins and orcas/killer whales) in multiple locations around the world . World. There is no perfect product. That being said, there's nothing in the product description that claims it's either a whistle to "annoy" the dog or a whistle to make the dog bark, and the instrument isn't exactly silent. There is no silent practice whistle; which contradicts the intended use. This clearly explains that this whistle is very high pitched (adjustable) and can be *almost* inaudible to the human ear. In other words, it's not too loud and annoying for us, but you can still hear it. Those who expect Acme Silent Dog Whistle #535 to work miraculously right away need to understand that nothing you do will have instant results. . This whistle is a TRAINING tool, not a quick fix. In fact, any dog must be trained to respond to a stimulus (a whistle in this case) in order to expect results. Animal! Of course there are *a few* dogs who will react immediately to whistles, you just can't expect that as it's not a common reaction. Please note that the Acme Silent Dog Whistle #535 was originally designed for sporting or working dogs. It is most commonly used on field trainers because this particular whistle is excellent at long range, is much less annoying to the average human ear, and is easily heard by the animal. In dogs, it is mainly used to give commands. In trained cetaceans (whales and dolphins) it serves as a bridge, signaling to the animal that it has performed the required behavior correctly and will soon be rewarded accordingly. That being said, the Acme Silent Dog Whistle #535 is an incredible training tool that is extremely reliable and useful once you know how to use it! As mentioned, it's great for long-distance use, it's not loud and won't disturb others/neighbors, but is still reliably audible for the dog. The stainless steel construction is very durable and will last a long time if you don't lose it (trust me, this often happens when trainers use the whistle for regular workouts and exercises). Truly the best practice whistle money can buy. I would highly recommend the Acme 535 to anyone who uses whistles in animal training!
