The sound quality isn't bad, but it's not great. The text below the controls is small and hard to read, so I stabbed myself around the neck with a stick and squinted to adjust it from my seated position. Durability was the main issue. It appears that the volume knob sits on some sort of internal spring that could break at any moment. There's little real control, so it was very difficult to get the volume level we wanted. He kept jumping up and down a few points. It broke down about 5-6 months after purchase - the discs started skipping. You don't have to sacrifice quality just because you don't want to spend a lot of money. There are better devices in this price range. I have one now!
