I had the opportunity to use it in several real life shots. When purchasing a monopod, the goal is to have equipment that allows you to move quickly and have the flexibility to change your camera's position and adjust camera height. The monopod is also designed to add some stability to the camera, much like a tripod. Although this unit has much longer legs that offer better stability than many other monopods on the market, I really wish I could turn the knobs to loosen and tighten the poles to raise or lower the height instead, with that it has latches that you just click like benro. During work, running and shooting, it became a little problem to unscrew the three handles, raise or lower the bars, and then tighten them again. Several times I found it difficult to loosen the handles. If I'd been on set with an assistant this issue would have been less of a problem, but when you're alone you'll find that the pen function isn't the easiest to use. However, I have to say that the device is very well made and doesn't feel cheap. It's durable and offers some nice features like the ability to transform into a hi-hat.
