Overall the performance of the product is AMAZING. I drained my pool (3300 gallons) in about half a day. It took me longer because the instructions did NOT provide enough information. First, it will NOT fit a standard hose fitting without an adapter. The one I got was from Home Depot and cost almost $18. Brass adapter 3/4" FIP x 1" MIP. Internet #300096110 Model #801829 Store SKU #799230 I'm sure you can find it cheaper but I was in a hurry to drain the pool. Second, to use the adapter above, you need to CUT the plastic connecting hose. I read in some reviews that the unit left about 3 inches of water. . It is true. Unless you "customize" the device. IF the switch does NOT float, your car will stop. So set up the machine the way you want it and make sure you keep a close eye on the machine. I used a rope to hold the float up. My pool is almost dry. This allows you to empty the pool with a little effort on your part. I recommend this product!
