For those who don't read the description and complain that this pump doesn't fit a garden hose. You're right, it doesn't work without an adapter. The description says the kit includes hose adapters for different sizes. It comes with an adapter that can be cut off. Once cropped, you cannot reuse other sizes. The garden hose adapter does not actually fit a standard garden hose. comes with the necessary adapters, otherwise the cost of additional accessories is included.

I bought this to drain my underground pool. It has no connection for a normal garden hose. I used an old vacuum hose that somehow fit, which was a pleasant surprise to me (it leaked a bit). I needed to drain an above ground spa that was connected to a pool. As the pool is closed it was not possible to drain it through the system. I thought it would do the job and it did it pretty well. I hooked it up to a strong 1 1/2 inch hose and descended into the spa with a rope around the handle. It turned on immediately after diving with a float. Water flowed from the hose at high speed. Overall the performance of the product is AMAZING. I drained my pool (3300 gallons) in about half a day. It took me longer because the instructions did NOT provide enough information.
