The new belt looks good, but you get what you pay for and this one is no exception. It's a cheap belt in a bag. Mine looked fine for a little over a month and then the black paint or something started peeling off the gray foam underneath. There is a "genuine leather" stamp on the back, but I'm told a lot of things can be sold with that tag. Perhaps the skin will be ground up and pressed into some sort of composite material. I apply some black paint to cover the flaking areas and use it until it breaks.
