Good USB 3 card with one weak point.

Works well on my upgraded 2006 Dell XPS-410. I've maxed out the CPU, video and RAM and am running Windows 7 off a single SSD. The calculator runs almost like a new PC and is 15 years old! Makes one hell of a backup PC! I installed this USB 3.0 card (without the NIC option) and everything is fine. Molex connector on the board when connecting to the power supply. Otherwise the card slot may pop out and damage the card. If you want to use a powered USB 3 hub, the card does not need to be powered. With USB 3.0 on board, I can now clone my drive in a split second. Time. It's almost scary what an improvement this has brought. Suggestion: Connect your USB keyboard to the onboard USB port controlled by your BIOS. If you connect the specified keyboard to the new card you just inserted, you'll get a keyboard error every time you boot. This is because the driver for the USB 3 card is loaded with Windows and is not "seen" by the BIOS during "POST". Anyway, this applies to my old Dell computer.

Pros
  • I/O port cards
Cons
  • Almost never
