Review on πŸ“· Ultimate Sony E Mount Cameras Companion: Venus Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D Lens Unmasked! by Tony Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money Fans aren't afraid of manual focus or Laowa

USE - for my A7rii. Travel, Rental, Business, Leisure Scenes, Amateur Videos. The selection of high-speed wide-angle lenses is limited. with sony. I'm an ex-boyfriend of Canon 5Ds, 6Ds, Rebels etc. Glad I finally switched to a Sony mirrorless camera but miss the variety of Canon lenses from L to fantastic plastic. I did a lot of research before buying. The Samyang Rokinon were tempting and cheap, but too much distortion and no filters didn't make them scary. I was afraid of the manual focus and bought Laowa. It's been a long time since I've focused manually and I've had split screens/prisms. But this is normal even if you have no experience. Sony has a magnifying glass for focusing, also image stabilization and focusing is easier at wide angle in most situations, the lens is fast and with the in-camera stabilization you can step it up a few notches and get good focus on near and far objects. Even with very simple post-processing like free magic wand programs, you can capture an image with great depth of field and extract it from the shadows. Also, you can focus quickly without using a travel magnifying glass and random video in the light itself. QUALITY - the best of Canon and Nikon. The weight is Sony appropriate and the lens isn't huge and not intimidating. The bottom line is a value and the best choice for amateurs. Try it and you will be happy.
