I use this K9 leash to keep it under constant tension but I have never used it to stop my dog when he is in full sprint. I've been using the same one for 3 years - it's frozen, dragged it through mud and water, dragged it through trees and a devil's club. No problem. I just rinse and dry it when it's wet or dirty and hang it up until next time. No rusting or locking problems from sand or dirt. I used to have a 30ft version too, but I left it too close to the Malinois' kennel and he pulled it in and turned it into a 6ft version in about 30 seconds. Don't buy it, but it's decent quality and does what I need it to do.
