I really wanted to like this cable. The build quality looks very sturdy and solid I bet it will make a great cable. BUT: I needed to connect an external SSD enclosure to my Mac Mini and neither cable allows me to do that. With the shorter of the two, the external drive will mount momentarily, then go away, mount momentarily, go away, repeat. The longer of the two cables will never mount the external drive. The cheap USB-A cable that came with the case works fine on the same Mac Mini (device mounts easily and stays connected). Tested with two other devices (windows laptops), same problem. I contacted the seller and we agreed that I could purchase another version of the same cable at a significant discount (shorter red ones of the same type from the same seller). Note here: the seller was very responsive and eager to solve the problem, no complaints about customer service! Unfortunately, these cables have the same problem. Long story short, these cables just don't seem to support my use case, which is to power an external SSD and establish a stable data connection between that SSD and my Mac Mini (or any other device). The seller claims that the cable offers "ultra-fast data transfer". In my case "Super" = "Zero", at least for this cable. I'm going back to my old cable and solving the original problem differently.
