Review on πŸ“± TORRAS Phone Holder for Car, Auto Clamp Car Phone Mount for Dashboard Windshield, Compatible with iPhone 12 11 Pro Max Samsung Galaxy S21 and Other Big Phones by Randy Salgado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very easy to install and use, great features!

Packaging and Presentation: TORRAS used minimal packaging and all but two parts were made from recyclable materials. To unpack the mount, simply use the provided tongue tabs inside the packaging to open it and reveal the product inside. Nothing had to be cut or torn. There is a plastic bag and a clear plastic piece to protect and display the mount. Customers who prefer 100% recyclable packaging can replace it with natural materials, as the product is only visible when the packaging is opened. TORRAS offers a small user manual, a well-designed thank you card, and a lifetime support notification. Assembly: The assembly of the product is very simple and requires no instructions. The plastic compression nut slips onto the ball head arm, the phone clip slips onto the ball joint, then simply line up the nut with the threads and hand tighten. Bracket: I used a window bracket in my car. Simply wipe the film on the glass with a clean, dry cloth and remove the thin plastic backing from the adhesive pad. Press the glass into the desired position, then rotate the large outer ring for a secure fit. The ring was ready to be tightened. The ring is very easy to grip and rotate into a tightened position, unlike the smaller, less readily available rings found on other manufacturers' products. Usage: TORRAS has a simplified design to clamp and hold the phone in the holder. The side arms and the bottom support are connected in such a way that they close when the phone's weight is placed in the holder. At the moment it is protected. To remove your phone, simply lift it from the mount by grasping the top and the side arms will retract for you to remove. This is superior to more complex mechanisms used in other designs and models that require the user to interact with clamp arms or require both hands. I tested my Samsung Galaxy S7 and S20+ in the holder. The S7, with its slim body, was easy to slide in and out of the gravity clamp, just like the S20 without the thicker body. With my S20+'s slim case, inserting and removing the phone was easy too. If you have a thick case like I do, it can catch on the side arm guards and interfere with opening and closing. Just center the phone well when inserting and removing. You'll quickly learn how to position your phone so it doesn't get in the way of the opening side arms. There are two things to note about this model. First, it is an extension with an infinite position. I have no type preference over the TORRAS 2-in-1 model which has preset discharge positions. The user simply tightens once in the desired position. Second, this is the distance from the steering knuckle to the main extension. It is long and allows you to adjust the phone in a wide range for optimal viewing. Other models have a shorter segment that limits this adjustment range. The side arms wrap around the front to hold the phone securely in place, but also overlap the touchscreen for a short distance. If it's the same as the touchscreen icon, it may interfere with finger access, but it seems like a minor inconvenience. With the slim body, this was less of a nuisance as there is space between the front of the phone and the inside of the side arms. TORRAS can check if the front of the side arms should rotate in far enough to ensure adequate clamping. I don't think this is a significant factor in the purchase decision. Conclusion: I have been using this holder daily for two weeks now and I am very satisfied. The presentation of the TORRAS phone, the ease of installation and use were highlighted. The welcome card and support info are a nice touch. I learned that TORRAS seeks feedback to develop its product design, a business model that I respect. This will be my phone mount for a long time and I will be buying a second one for my other car. My rating is only 4 because the side arms can get in the way when used in the mount.
