Review on Knitted Lace Estonia DVD Techniques by Hannah Curi

Great collection of easy lace projects

I am a yarn junkie and love this book. So far I've made three different shawls from this book and haven't found any errors in the instructions or the drawings. There are 14 designs including shawls, triangular shawls, square shawls and stoles (rectangular shawls?). Instructions are clearly written, all lace patterns are in charts, and thread and needle requirements appear to be accurate. The book contains the history of Estonian lace knitting with photographs of knitters and their creations. Stitches other than knit, purl and yarn over stitches are explained with beautiful illustrations at the beginning of the book. The book is beautifully illustrated and printed on glossy paper. There are also instructions for picking up and tying the lace to maintain tension on the lace as well as blocking the finished product. I'm an advanced knitter and found a number of stitches in this book that I had never seen before. My friend, who has never knitted lace, was able to follow the instructions with ease and complete one of the most difficult projects in the book. I recommend this book to both beginners and experienced knitters. The former will appreciate the easy-to-follow instructions and diagrams, while the latter will have a blast working on beautiful projects, some of which can be easily taken apart.
