Can be washed, not suitable for needlework.
They are actually washable so it would be great if they got on your furniture or fabrics. However, if you try to color anything other than paper (foam board, wooden sticks, etc.), the color will fade with your touch. I don't know for sure either, but the ink dries very quickly compared to traditional markers. But with 2 and 4 year old artists in the house it's great!
