Kenwood is a decent quality electronics manufacturer, but the fact of the matter is that companies with good reputations eventually start to capitalize on their name. Flashlights are where SureFire® started, and my first decent flashlights led me to buy good 65 luman waterproof flashlights for about $62. Super police flashlights. I then bought a $26 LED head that put out 125 lumens. And quality CR123A batteries for a dollar each. I want to say that SureFire has stopped reviving. Now he makes good products at inflated prices! And I haven't bought a SureFire product in almost 15 years, and I don't plan to. A month or two ago I bought two Revevis RT29 IP67 walkie-talkies for $123. Waterproof, dustproof and with 10 watts of power, I can talk loud and clear to my friend a little over ten miles away if I can manage to get to a low altitude. However, the Kenwood NX-P1302AUK UHF is about twice the price, consumes only 2W and can't even compete with my cheap little Baofeng 5R (4.7W), let alone my Baofeng UV-H6/H7 (7W). ). It's under $100 and dual-band, not just UHS or VHF, which is a plus. Some say these Baofeng radios are Chinese junk and they are right. But I also know people who have used them diligently for six years. They look like they've been in the blender for some time, but they still work. And the walkie-talkies I have in my bag are Retevis RT29 and various Baofeng above. I don't think the Kenwoods last a minute longer than the Retevis RT29s, so I won't spend a penny more on them. I think the Retevis can be set to a lower transmit power, although I don't see any reason to do so at the moment. But that's up to you. If you want 2W walkie-talkies, winky-tinkies or what I call walkie-talkies, go for Kenwood. They're good and last a long time, and at 2 watts they don't drain the battery. If you want powerful HTs that last a long time and drain your wallet, choose Retevis and buy a few extra batteries with the bucks saved. Either way, you can't go wrong.
