This made the repair hassle-free. The new pump unit is simply inserted into the base with the mounting groove facing upwards. I used plumber's silicone grease in the large o-ring groove to glue the o-ring in place until the screws were seated. Maybe I could restore the old chopper assembly but it was pretty bad and corroded. It's a bit more money for a full build, but it's not worth grappling with all the YUKs and not wondering if the engine fails next time. Basically your Sea Head is brand new again for 1/3 the cost of buying a new toilet.
