Review on 🚁 Smatree Carrying Case for DJI Mavic 2 Pro/DJI Mavic 2 Zoom & Smart Controller: Secure Travel Solution by Wayne Gilbert

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Durable and trouble free for a year of use/storage

This is my second Smatree hard case (first was for my Mavic Air) and I will be buying a third if the opportunity arises. The case is well made, snaps securely in place and holds all my gear including my Smart Controller with Roboterwerk neck strap and balance mount. There is space for 4 spare batteries, drone, cable and power supply. The latches have a locking mechanism that makes the process a two-step process. A little awkward, but no surprises either. There are 2 points on the body to add padlocks if needed, a nameplate and a pressure relief valve. I haven't submerged the case in water (I don't plan to) or dropped it from a great height, but I'm confident that it's due to its structural integrity due to daily use and exposure to rain/wet. I keep a few packets of desiccant in a case to keep the air "drier". In September 2019 there was a review that the top foam was hard and too dense/distorting the shape of the battery. I haven't come across this and haven't found anyone with this problem. The lid doesn't close completely without pressure, but it ensures that nothing jumps around inside the case. I don't see an alternative that offers the same level of protection. I think at this price you will have a hard time finding a better housing for your quadcopter.

Great price, a bit thin.
