After trying a few car covers I figured this would be the one. It costs several times more than others, but seems worth it. I have to say that the lid is made of a heavier material and the weighted base keeps the lid in place better than my previous lid. In fact, the previous lightweight lid only lasted a few months and the bottom came loose at the seam. Before that, the lid had lasted for several years before punctures formed. Unfortunately, this case doesn't seem to be as durable as expected. They include patching material, but I've found that the wind tends to pull the bottom across the ground. This resulted in the opening of several holes and the outpouring of sand. I tried covering these holes with tape but that was only a temporary fix and new holes opened up. Sand and car paint don't mix well, so I decided to look elsewhere. The sand doesn't seem to have scratched the finish yet, but I'm concerned that a strong gust of wind could blow some sand off and get under the finish.
