I have to admit the biggest benefit for me was not having to tie them. I haven't had to tie my shoelaces in 5 years and I wasn't about to start when I was talked into going camping with friends last weekend. I didn't want big, heavy boots. I just wanted sneakers that I could wear to work if I wanted to. I took this pair to Linville Gorge on the Rock Jock Trail and they were great except maybe they were too relaxed to use on the trail. The first day my feet slipped too much but the next day I put on two pairs of socks and there was no problem. My feet stayed dry as I had to step through puddles and small streams, and they maintained their footing as they scaled the boulder-covered slope. A very durable pair of shoes and I will be comfortable in them when I return next month.
