This is a very nice lamp, the dimmer knob and USB connections are great. I have several other comments. First, the base doesn't allow you to sit up straight. The arm and lampshade tilt a little and the base wobbles a little. This is at the level of granite slabs. It's on a table now and I've partially put a thin stand under the base to level it and it's still not level, but that's a good thing. The lampshade needs to be assembled, which I have never seen before. On the outside there is an upper and lower strap with a thin Velcro fastener. The shadow is rolled up tight. You should press the lampshade about 75% against the bottom ring and then hold it while pressing it against the top ring to complete the contact with the hoops to form the lampshade. It has a thick seam where the lampshade attaches, which I fixed to the wall so it doesn't stand out too much. The rest of the lamp rotates easily. For $40, this is a beautiful lamp with some great features, and it's perfect for our guest room. Had I known these issues, I probably would have spent more money on a similar product. But again, a good lamp for the money. It was packaged very well and delivery was quick.
