Great idea but Wi-Fi connection should be better

My brother originally bought this for my elderly father who is hard of hearing when using the phone. It doesn't stay connected to the Wi-Fi router, and unfortunately there's no way to plug in an Ethernet cable where it's being used. A day later at the latest, it will show a message that the router is not turned on or is unavailable if all other devices in the house that are connecting to the WiFi are not having any problems. I initially connected it to my main Wi-Fi network, but after a while it seemed to refuse to connect to it, insisting that the router was turned off. I then decided to turn on my router's "guest" networking feature and it got a bit more stable but still caused problems at times. It's good that I live with my parents and am a "techie" to be able to maintain and troubleshoot the phone. The phone's other features work fairly well, notably the answering machine, phone book and volume boost, but if you're really handing this to a non-technical person and don't want to deal with connection issues, look elsewhere.
