UPDATE: These dishes are dangerous. Older models had gaskets to prevent steam from escaping, but now they cause scalding because the gasket was removed during production. The clamps are tight, now they're so loose that they pop open every time you pick up a bowl and you either burn yourself on hot food or it splatters on your hand. I used to love Sistema products but this one turned out to be a huge disappointment. The big plate is actually not that big. It's about the size of a dinner plate and looks like a plate, but it's only about two inches deep. It was convenient to take already prepared food to the picnic, and it is suitable for warming up food for dinner. Although these bowls have a spacer, they were often difficult to level, liquids often spilled because the clips weren't long enough, and I've burned myself several times from hot contents escaping when removing the bowls from the microwave that I have never encountered in a Sistema product.
