I bought these because of all the hype. Let's talk about the positive things first. It looks cool and sexy. Everything looks high quality and everything works. The coffee brews fairly quickly which is a plus. Now for the cons. The carafe is small. You'll be lucky if you get three cups of coffee from a full brew. The hot plate shuts off after an hour and a half and doesn't keep the coffee as hot as it should be or as hot as it is immediately after brewing. In my opinion, this is a serious deficiency. It's very expensive, and my previous coffee maker worked just as well (or better) for a third of the price. Folks, I have come to the conclusion that there is no magic in any of these machines. The quality of a brewed cup of coffee is determined 95% by the freshness and quality of the beans and 5% by the grind. All these machines do is pour boiling water over the territory. That's all. As long as the water is sprayed evenly over the area, the work of all these machines is done. Any contrary opinion is pure advertising and a product of exaggerated imagination. Save money and buy a decent drip coffee maker for a third (or less) the price.
