My husband recently got a promotion and got a job that requires him to dress every day. Then there are other special days when he has to meet bills and clients. I mostly buy him clothes because I know what he likes, but I'm a little unsure of the menswear world when it comes to shoes. What I like, he often doesn't like. He also expressed concern about some of the shoes I bought, although they LOOK nice but are not comfortable to wear all day, and he buys insoles to make them feel better. It is worth noting that these were inexpensive shoes (a big box store with holes). The first really good shoes he wore were a pair of Kenneth Cole (and later Nunn Bush) moccasins, which he initially disliked because they were "too dressy". His job requires him to walk A LOT and pay bills, and that was at the root of our problem with cheaper dress shoes. they injured his legs. He wore these "too dressy" pretty Kenneth Cole shoes to work one morning, and the ladies in the office commented on his pretty shoes. He wore these shoes to the factory where he had to walk for hours on concrete. He came home and loved these shoes and wore them to hell until I bought him new ones. These Kenneth Cole shoes have exactly the same quality, the insoles are well stitched. The heels are soft. The entire bottom of the shoe has a nice absorbent rubber sole. Not stiff and smooth but with a good grippy sole that can walk on tile, concrete etc without slipping. There is no padded collar around the heel, which is usually an issue and causes slippage, but there is no such issue with these shoes. No need to buy insoles and listen to him express his pleasure in shoes instead of telling me how they rubbed. His ankles are bruised, his legs are pinched or damaged, it's worth paying a little extra. And the soles of these more expensive shoes do not wear out as quickly as with cheaper shoes. I'm sure the office ladies who ooh and aah about his formal attire after seeing him in work shirts for so long help too! I think it's like a fashion show in the morning. Overall I am very happy with the look of these shoes and have purchased more menswear from Kenneth Cole because my husband is so happy with the shoes. A brand I'm definitely a fan of now.
