Basic sound propagation problem solver

I have speakers all over my house. I recently bought this unit to solve the problem of how to get the signal coming from my receiver out to all the other powered speakers and receivers - some of them are at the end of a 50ft cable so the line level signal is really reduced. .Earlier I've tried using a non-powered splitter, but it didn't give satisfactory results. Here are the problems that the Rolls block solved:1. Amplify the line signal so that there is sufficient voltage at the input of the next amplifier2. Increase signal strength to improve signal-to-noise ratio, long cable compensation; 3. Isolation of output channels so they don't pull each other down; or to put it another way: 4. Allows the user to set individual output levels to compensate for the different sensitivity of the downstream inputs. I also bought good quality but inexpensive cables (Monoprice 102868, also from Revain) with gold plated RCA connectors, which also reduced the noise in this breadboard. If your downstream device requires a 3.5mm stereo jack, you need to purchase a RCA jack to 3.5mm jack conversion cable. I've tried long 3.5mm cables in the past, but the sound quality wasn't to my liking. IMHO better channel separation and signal to noise ratio with RCA stereo cables. By the way, this device is made in the USA. When was the last time you bought an electronic device to which this applied? They also provide a schematic diagram of the product that I was looking at. I'll never get into this thing, but it was fun to see the technology they use. A bunch of op amps indeed. Tip #1: I used to have a lot of noise that I attributed to ground loops - each subsequent amplifier in my house was on a separate circuit. I took a few hundred feet of 18 gauge wire and ran a separate ground from each unit's chassis ground (including the case screw on the rolls) back to my receiver's ground: KILL the hum! Now the sound is really clear. Tip #2: This isn't rocket science, but if you don't understand a lot of what I explained above, this probably isn't the right product for you. The manufacturer assumes (and says in their literature) that they can't help you fix a problem with your installation, so you need to know what you're doing. Tip 2a: It's not a power amp, it's a line-level amp. , leaving your speakers unpowered. It produces enough power to drive the input of your powered speakers or something with a built in preamp like a receiver. Finally, the build quality seems fantastic. Heavy metal body, clean assembly, smooth gain control.
