This is a cuddly and snuggly dress that just feels like a big sweatshirt. The XL is 37.5" long and that's about right on the edge between long tunic and dress. It would look cute over leggings.I washed this in cold and hung dry, no change in size. I then washed on warm and did a low dry, it caused the garment to feel more compact so it did have some minor (unmeasurable) shrinkage. If this is something you want to wear for a long time I'd recommend cool wash and hang. I've worn and washed this several times and there's very minor pilling. Really comfy.
