This is a very, very soft, very comfortable dress. It says cocoon, and that's a perfect description because it's exactly what it feels like. The lining is like a soft, warm blanket, and it fits close to the body without being tight. I love the feel of it, but I wasn't expecting it to be so.warm. It's very thick and very warm. I was thinking I would wear it during the fall, or on cool summer nights, but it's too thick and warm for me to do that personally (I do run hot, though). However, I'm not sure how I would wear a sleeveless, short dress in the winter; I can wear tights on my legs, but the sleeveless style is kind of an issue because it would be cold, but I would roast with another shirt underneath, and a sweater over the top would be totally bulky (and this dress is already bulky, so that's no good). I will update in the winter if I figure out a solution that works, but for now I'm a little perplexed because it's a lovely dress that feels delightful on, except for the fact that it's a bit odd. It would've been much better with sleeves IMO (more a sweater dress, or sweatshirt dress).As far as fit, it's great. I orderd the XL; usually I order a large in US sizes, but I've had issues with Goodthreads fitting tight through the bust, so I ordered up, and I'm glad I did. There's plenty of room in it--it's actually a bit loose, but I'm okay with that in this type of dress, which will likely be something I wear at home inside or outside (casually) with a jacket. I wish it was another color, because the sweatshirt material + dark color is pretty basic (a navy would be better than black or grey). Love the pockets, though! I'm not sure I'd order another of these, but I think it will be a nice dress to wear inside when the temps drop.For reference, I'm 5'10" (it's long enough for my 33.5" inseam), 190 lbs, 36DD, 33 waist, inverted triangle/apple shape (narrow hips). The XL fits perfectly in the bust, and a bit loose elswhere. If you're busty, consider sizing up like I did for a relaxed fit (which seems appropriate for this dress).
