As this is made by the same company it is expected to perform as if it was straight out of the box from their box set. First use sounds and works fine. What I mean by sound is that it's not that loud or feels like it's spinning very quickly, but I'm fine with that. It still does its job perfectly and doesn't jam, and the base unit doesn't smell like burnt metal or rubber. It also comes with a gasket. I'm not sure why some people ask this question, but I'm not sure why manufacturers would sell without it. Would that be like selling a car without tires? If I notice any difference, I'll keep you posted.
