This is my favorite piece. We have 2 small dogs one of which is just a kid and medium sized family. Removes urine stains, odors and keeps carpets looking great. You certainly don't need a carpet cleaner; Direct application works great. When my boys come into the house, they sometimes leave a trail (since they know to take off their shoes). I spray the product onto the carpet, let the solution sit for a few minutes and lightly clean. I have even used this product on the cloth seats and floor carpet in our cars.
