Update Feb 2013: Towels were purchased in November 2012. I still have no problems with these towels, although I always wash them with hot water on a high setting. I liked the size, density and absorbency. I will buy another set. I don't understand the complaints that it doesn't absorb unless they received a product that isn't 100% cotton. The second culprit is fabric softener. I have never understood why fabric softeners are used at all. Fabric softeners "soften" fabrics by coating them with a waxy film that lubricates them. The first fabric softeners used oil, the newer substances have lots of letters and syllables that I find difficult to pronounce, but essentially they do the same thing. You wax your car, the water runs off. you wash towels The same thing. You also have oily wax on the clothes you wear ick. I don't know of any other stores but I only bought mine from Microfiberhome because Prime shipping is within 2 days. It seemed like a good choice. These towels are relatively large and did not shrink badly after the first wash in hot water. I really like her. They absorb liquids like cotton fabrics. I finally found kitchen towels in the right quality and size combination. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but I think it's worth it. Another thing is to always wash (washable) fabrics before first use. "New gear is dirty gear."
