Use only for intermediate and light cleaning of floors. If your solid floors are heavily soiled, try something else. Removing and installing pads is quite easy. And the task of moving the carpet across the floor is simple. When washing dirty floors, the pad gets dirty pretty quickly. I use this product regularly to condition previously washed floors and to remove dust in low traffic areas. Of course, it doesn't have a press or comb to sweep the carpet, so it's difficult for me to get hard debris like hair, cracker crumbs, etc off the carpet to mop the rest of the floors as I go.
