Not suitable for partial shade

These lights are very pretty (soft white color) and the length is perfect for the front of the porch. The description says it has a bigger (better) solar panel. I figured I'd need it in the patchy sun conditions I'm dealing with. Unfortunately the lights come on around 8:30pm and go out at 9:30 or 10pm. It would be great if I could unplug the panel, move it somewhere else in direct sunlight and then plug it back in, but I don't think that's possible. I'm giving it a 4 because I assume the problem is related to those conditions.
