Both the pins and the plastic socket blocks seem a little weaker than they should be. Also make sure that the color coding of the battery charge and switching capacity matches the positions. I used this adapter along with a special BMW wire harness adapter to assemble a complete cable. The colors matched, I plugged it in and found the two +12V pins swapped. Maybe it was one or the other set. In any case, check the contacts, not just the colors. And the plugs are not tight, hence 3 stars.
