Pretty easy. I had an iPad mini with a badly cracked/broken screen. unusable. Couldn't follow the movement of the fingers. I've been offered various prices ranging from $150 to nearly $300 to have it professionally repaired, either by an OEM or a 3rd party. The restored model only cost about $100. So I decided to give it a try if I could fix it myself for less than $20. It was probably easier for me than most. My screen was so badly damaged the glass literally popped out. I didn't have to struggle at all to remove it. From there, just a few screws and a change in electrical connections and you're done. Less than 15 minutes from start to finish. Works perfectly. Like new. Every movement is perfectly recorded anywhere on the screen. I also used to have a "crisp" home button (it was a prize won and when I got it it had been bought too long ago to still be under warranty. The box appears to have been dropped as there was already a small chip on the screen and small crack on the LCD on the extreme side where it didn't affect the display or function and the home button crunched). Replacement glass came with a new home button. So technically it works better than when it was originally received. Also, I found out how easy it would be to replace the LCD screen for $40. Much easier to fix this little guy than I thought. Upon learning this, I was appalled that OEM and aftermarket repair teams were demanding rip-offs. $15-$17 part (probably only $10 if bought in bulk) and takes less than 20 minutes of work with a $200-$300 return on investment for the end user. Shameful. These groups should be ashamed. Do not be fooled. try it yourself It really wasn't that difficult. Just go slowly, follow the instructions, watch at least 2 different videos on it and you can do it too.
