The otoscope is surprisingly easy to use to see inside the ear canal. The picture is bright and very clear. I couldn't find how to adjust focus, but for looking into the ear it has the right setting. I am not sure it will work for other applications. The light can be adjusted or turned off. You can make a picture or a movie of what is going on. For someone who gets frequent ear infections it is a great tool to know if you need to call the doctor or if you just need a good cleaning. They included some tools to use to clean inside the ear canal, but I am not brave enough to use them yet. I have a special spray bottle for that that does an excellent job without possibility of scratching the delicate skin inside of the ear canal or puncturing the eardrum.
