I've been squatting with the barbell for a while now, but occasionally I have a bit of discomfort in my knees. Decided to get knee pads to help with lighter workloads to get back to where I was before the discomfort started to allow the connective tissue to build strength which I know takes a lot longer than muscle strength. The choice of this brand is based on other reviews. , and it doesn't look like it's a copycat brand. Tried it once just to be sure and had to send it back because the size and thickness was wrong. The box said one size and Amazon marked it a different size and thickness, I don't know why. Since using knee pads I've been squatting up to >1xBW without any knee discomfort whatsoever - it occurred at around 50% BW before slowly unloading the sleeves and starting again. I've been using them for 2 months and haven't had to wash them yet, although they sweat a little every time - at least they don't smell. Overall a good product if you are looking for a knee pad. I haven't tried other brands but this worked for me!
