Review on KEF LSX Wireless Music System (White by Arun Kumar ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall it's good but I expect more, there are some downsides.

So what do we have. This system was bought for the sound, first of all, I wanted to hear as many details in the music as possible in order to enjoy its beauty even more, and that's what I didn't get. After listening to the whole day on a variety of compositions, settings, I decided to return the system. I myself, I think, belong to the category of average users. I used monitor headphones through a high-quality ancient DAC, as well as a high-quality tube amplifier with good speakers. Therefore, my review can be positioned in this vein. While listening in the store, I noticed that in some sounds the speakers seem to not pull out a drop, it seems to sound, but not the way it should sound in my opinion, but, as it were, goes slightly into the background. Therefore, in many compositions there was a feeling that it sounds kind of good, but there is always a little something missing. At the same time, some things, such as a voice, sound very expressive. Coming home, the impression was repeated. No matter how I danced, I connected via Bluetooth, via WiFi, analog input - everything is the same. I just didn’t try it through optics - there was no optical cable. This distorted the compositions quite strongly. In some I didn't really hear the sounds that really were there at all, in the end you heard something completely different. And I wanted to set it up, to hear more and in more detail. Separately, a word about the control program: it works only via WiFi. Which is inconvenient. You have to let it into your home WiFi so that this obscure contraption can, for example, rummage through your network. Could do it via bluetooth. I really did not want to part with the speakers, but such a sound feature is categorically unacceptable for me. Suitable for those who are not particularly demanding in sound.

Pros
  • - Good average sound - Neat beautiful design - Soft sound - Various interfaces, optical, analog, bluetooth, wifi
Cons
  • - Hiding some details in the sound - Idiot system management system through the app that works only via WiFi
