I don't make a samovar. I only buy growlers from local taprooms, microbreweries and bars to keep them going and I prefer draft beer to bottles and cans. So this is a really good way to store your growler beer in the fridge. I like spilling and not spilling. It's great that it's pressurized to retain the fizz and flavor (you can't always eat a growler quickly, you don't have to gulp down the last pint or two that goes a little flat). I have regular glass and plastic growlers that I take to the bar to fill up. It's quite difficult for them to fill this one up efficiently as they can't see the froth/beer level inside. For me this is not a big problem; I simply pour the growler into the tank using a funnel with moderate care (tilting the whole tank a bit while filling the funnel helps). I like the equipment very much. Pretty easy to unscrew and clean between fills. Having a regulator is great - it's very easy to pressurize. Small annoyance: The manometer looks up. I keep it on the top shelf in the fridge so I have to tilt it forward to see the pressure reading when I adjust the control valve. The control valve may turn too easily; It seems like I can move it without realizing it. I occasionally accidentally knock off the faucet handle and spill a bit - wouldn't mind a short handle option to be less receptive. I love having and using it! I don't regret this purchase at all!
