Review on 🍏 AlwaysU Food Mill: Premium Stainless Steel Grinder for Fruits and Vegetables - 2 Quart Capacity, Dishwasher Safe, with 4 Milling Discs by Andrew Vijayakumar

Disappointing, not for tomato juice?

I kicked off canning season this year and found that my trusty old Foley food mill was wearing out after a few decades. Found this, went with it as most were either out of stock or the prices were ridiculous. I will say that the metal is thick. To assemble, insert the base plate and place the handle on it. Sit so that you have enough pressure to compress the spring to set the bar in position (at least I had to). I boiled the tomatoes and put them in the grinder. As you can see in the photo there is a gap between the plate and the rib. It doesn't make tomatoes for juice. I've tried twice now. To use this, I had to mash the tomatoes, spread out an equal amount, and then use a flat spatula to press the tomatoes against the wall of the grinder to actually get most of the juice out. That second pic isn't the best, sorry, but it's just to show that a lot of the juice from that grinder was wasted. I'd say if you need it and it's not being used to extract juice, you might be fine. Otherwise good luck!
