Probably a good idea.
The filter is well made and fits like a glove. Keep foreign objects away from your vehicle's fresh air ducts. That's a good idea. I suspect that large objects, leaves, stems, etc. can be removed with compressed air to extend the life of the filter. The monthly replacement seems like a lot, but this time of year I mainly use convection due to my allergies. Maybe other seasons are different.
