I really didn't know what to expect from morning to night. I live far from the street, so it's pretty dark outside the front door. The postman came with the package later than usual, around 4:30 p.m. I figured it was dark enough to stay on after I flipped the switch. It went off after a few seconds. So I watched the lightbulb from afar, and after a few minutes it lit itself up. For a 60 watt equivalent, this is very bright. I need to clean the glass on the holder today. I like that it disappears throughout the day. Nothing says "please rob my house because I'm at work" like a light outside that stays on all day. The cost is $14 for three, so better keep them long. I have two more exterior lights in the back that get the other two.
