For normal everyday use and gaming this thing handles 5900x quite well. In Windows 10 I have activated the energy saving mode. This means that all my clock speeds are around 2.1GHz all the time (unless the CPU gets a massive workload, then clock speeds will adjust to something higher), even when I'm playing games. Now I've enabled High Performance and PB (Performance Boost) in the BIOS to see how much the thing can suffer. Result. The maximum CPU temperature reached 91c (196F). The clock frequency started at 4.8 and steadily decreased to 4.2 GHz. Not bad for a cooler designed for a CPU with a different cooler. Oh, those benchmarks and speeds were achieved when Folding@home was introduced. Processes from them can take anywhere from an hour to 5 hours on average. It really depends on the workload you get from them and how fast your processor can calculate the workload.
