As with all things Porsche, there's only one right way to get everything done without complications (like losing an eye, cutting your scalp, or scratching the paint). To install these struts easily and without hassle and to avoid pushing out the paint on your Porsche, first take masking tape and apply it to the underside of the hood and inner fenders around the original strut ball and pan mounting points , if you fool around in it next step. Now grab a broomstick, a piece of PVC pipe, or whatever you can find to use as a temporary "stand". Glue or tie a rag to one end. Place one end on the frunk bottom of your Porsche and place the soft end under the hood (center on the support pad). This is just in case the hood tries to fall off while you're removing the old struts (bad). The trim strip is designed to prevent denting of your car's very thin aluminum hood. Then put on goggles. Then take a close look at the original strut where it attaches to a small ball mount at the top of the fender or hood.
