I bought this cable because I needed to run another ethernet connection to the basement with it I can expand our network and have a better signal there. As for laying the cable, it worked out well. I could run about 65 feet up from my living room, down to the basement, then up the ceiling and down the wall. To keep the barrel clean I decided to cut off the ends and seal the bushings. This is where I ran into many, many problems. After cutting and stripping the wire, I noticed that the 8 wires bundled inside were very thin! When trying to seal the jack, they simply broke and crumbled. Any violence just cut her in half. There were times when I thought I had a successful conclusion, only to look down and see that the wire had basically crumbled and detached from the connector. I made probably 10 attempts to cancel before I was successful. Even the successful one isn't great, but so far he's been holding out. In the end I will take a better quality cable and redo my mileage. So what I can say is this: if you plan on cutting the wire to make smaller cables or plan on using it to terminate connectors, stay away! This will only bring disappointment. I can say it works fine after it stopped working, but it's definitely cheap stuff so I can't say how long it will last. If you only need a 75-foot Ethernet cable and plan on leaving both ends intact to connect to a computer, router, or gaming console, you're probably fine. At least for a bit. Do not buy this to cut and terminate your own sockets. Look for higher quality items. I tried to do this job cheaply and I learned my lesson. Never again!
