Once you figure it out (easy but no instructions) it's smooth operation. Attach the vent bracket part, there is only one way to do this and attach it to the vent. Then connect it to a USB port with the included USB-C cable. You will hear a motor sound as the phone opens when you touch the recessed button in the top right corner. Place your phone on the device and you will hear the grips close securely on your phone. It now charges your phone (if your phone supports wireless charging) and can be used for map reading or hands-free calling. Works perfectly. The phone can be rotated to any angle. Removing the phone is easy, use the recessed button on the top right. Touch it and the clamps will open. To reinsert your phone, place your phone on the bottom platform and touch the button again. The pages will close and your phone will return to the device. Be careful not to touch the button if you don't want to. The auto vent insert works well. You have to loosen the large plastic wing nut on the back, slide the charger over the vent, and retighten to get a good grip. Works, doesn't hang on rough roads.
