When new, they should not be scratched as they are.
What I didn't like was the front screen right out of the box that showed battery life and percentage. The screen was quite scratched when it was new, not every used one shouldn't be scratched or smudged as it was. Also, they work well, just the fear that the things have been used and/or someone else had them when I ordered a brand new look makes me suspicious.
