Review on 🚪 Black Tail Gate Door Handle for Chevy Avalanche 1500 and 2500 (02-06) | Part Numbers: 15086873, 19209650 by Gary Zielinski

I broke my grip on a very cold New England winter day. I installed this replacement on my 2005 Avalanche in about 15 minutes but probably spent another 15 minutes making sure the locking mechanism was working properly. I had to use plastic clips from an old block so I advise you to be careful when removing. This job requires a few torx bits, make sure you have access to a set. I sprayed everything with teflon spray before putting the plastic cap on, hopefully that lasts a little longer. Having seen the mechanism up close (and how the old one broke) I would suggest only pulling on the right hand side (passenger side) as it can reduce stress on the plastic.
