High quality latch

I recently wanted to install a latch handle on my second garage door. Having never done this before, it was something of a learning experience and required some reading and research. Based on my door configuration I decided I needed a handle in the middle of the door which means I needed those snap locks on the side. I took two of these, one for each side of the door. They came with all the necessary parts to mount them to both the rails and the door itself. There is a latch that must be bolted to the side rails with the carriage bolts provided. On my tracks I found that the holes lined up perfectly and I was able to engage the latches with ease. The other component is the part of the latch that attaches to the door itself. I had to attach them to the door with self-tapping screws. Just make sure you place these latches in the correct position so they line up with the latches on the rails. Once properly secured to the door, they slide up the outside edge of the latch and then snap directly into the groove in the latch. They fix the door securely in the lower position. Please note that you need one more component to work properly. In the center of your door, where you will attach the lock handle, you will need a "pivot lock" that allows you to run a chain or cable to each deadbolt lock. This twist lock rotates when you turn the handle and pull on the cables you attach, allowing the spring latch to retract far enough to lift the door. The door is locked well enough. So they get five stars from me.
