OK. A few awkward moments.

Update: It's been 4 months and this is my least favorite training collar I've ever tried. I have to keep pressing the power button on the receiver to wake it up before it works. Which is totally inappropriate when I'm trying to turn on the vibration to teach my dog that what he's doing is unacceptable. I also usually have to press the button multiple times to "wake up" the remote and actually wake it up. It's just annoying enough that I stopped using it. My dog doesn't wear it anymore. If I were you, I would take someone else. I was also wrong when I said there were no numbers to tell which collar the remote was set to. There is a small puppy icon on the remote that will light up as a 1 or 2 to let you know which collar you are communicating with. For the most part, this gets the job done. I love the charger. This is a cable that splits into two parts, allowing you to charge both the remote and the receiver at the same time. These aren't traditional micro-USB connectors, though, so you'll be very badly miserable if you ever lose your charger. The charge doesn't hold up very well. With constant use of the vibration, it will expire in about a day, maybe 2. I don't actually use electric shocks unless my dog is doing something dangerous or very expensive. A beep and vibration is usually enough to get his attention and redirect him. Because the remote is designed to control two collars, it's difficult to know which collar you're set to. There are no numbers, nothing. I'm always afraid I'm naming the wrong dog. The remote control goes into sleep mode very quickly. You have to press a button to wake him up before it works and often the dog will toggle between waking the remote control up and trying to figure out which collar he's going to activate and I can't teach him any wrongdoing. I have had 4 different training collars for both of my dogs and this is by far my least favorite. The management is not intuitive, the battery is weak. I love that the plastic collars can be wiped clean and they have a reflective strip. In addition, you can attach the collar by either threading it through the posts in the receiver, or connect it by screwing the pins into the holes in the collar. I would not buy this set again.
